How to join today's live chat

Howdy readers!

I’m pretty new to Substack so still sorting out the features—bear with me here.

First, if you want to join our discussion of chs. 1–6 of A-Tumblin’ Down, you gotta be a paying subscriber! Any tier for any amount of time is fine.

Second, at the designated hour (8 pm Eastern, 7 Central, 6 Mountain, 5 West Coast) paying subscribers will get an invitation to join the live chat, so just join in! As far as I can tell, you can do it from the website or from the app. I have bespoke technology that doesn’t allow me to use the Substack app, so I’ll be joining from the web.

Third, I thought we could do live video, but now it looks like that is still in “beta” and not available to all Substack authors. I placed a request to get it early, but I doubt that’s go through before the hour arrives.

So, if a sufficient critical mass of subscribers turns up and wishes to leap from text to video, I’ll share a link to another video chat site and we can talk from there. (O Substack Overlords, I assume you’re surveilling this—so if you want us to stay on that platform, please be so beneficent as to grant us Live Video very very soon.)
